Become a Frenchie Guardian
At Great Lake Frenchies Wisconsin, our dogs are more than just pets—they are family. Ensuring they receive the love, socialization, and individual attention they deserve is our top priority. While we maintain a comfortable number of dogs in our home, some thrive better in smaller, more intimate environments. That’s why we are excited to introduce the Great Lake Frenchies Guardian Program, a unique opportunity for our beloved Frenchies to experience the best of both worlds—being cherished pets while also helping continue our exceptional breeding program.
Why Join the Guardian Program?
The Great Lake Frenchies Guardian Program offers families who adore French Bulldogs a chance to welcome one of our exceptional dogs into their homes. We aim to create strong, lasting partnerships and friendships with our guardians, ensuring a rewarding experience for everyone involved. We look forward to having you join our Great Lake Frenchies Guardian family!

How the Program Works
Puppies will join their Guardian families at various stages of their lives, some as young as 8 weeks old, while others may arrive at 1 year of age. Most families will care for a female Frenchie, although occasionally a male may require placement. When a female dog is ready for breeding, she will return to us for the necessary process before going back to her Guardian home. About 30 days after breeding, we will confirm pregnancy, and approximately two weeks before delivery, the female will return to our care to ensure a safe and smooth birthing process. In most cases, females will have up to three litters if they remain healthy. After their final litter, they are spayed and retire to live the rest of their lives with their loving Guardian families.
To ensure the happiness and well-being of our Frenchies, Guardian families must meet specific criteria. Ideal Guardian homes are located within a two-hour drive of our home in Wisconsin and must be able to transport the dog for appointments during breeding times. Homes should provide a calm, clean, and stress-free environment, and while having a fenced yard is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. Although homes without other dogs are ideal, exceptions can be made; however, no intact male or female dogs are allowed. Families must also have a solid understanding of the unique needs of French Bulldogs, as they require special care. Air conditioning is essential for maintaining their comfort and safety. Most importantly, Guardian families must be ready to provide unconditional love, affection, and daily care for their Frenchie.
